"...to compose a piece of uninterrupted silence and sell it to Muzak Co. It will be three or four-and-a-half minutes long—those being the standard lengths of "canned" music and its title will be Silent Prayer. It will open with a single idea which I will attempt to make as seductive as the color and shape and fragrance of a flower. The ending will approach imperceptibility." -John Cage

carpe diem.
there is something special about this time of year.
the weather, the colors, the clothes, the smells.
it is a simple reminder of why i am attending school in the midwest.

bright star, would i were stedfast as thou art
bright star is a new movie about the life and inspiration of john keats. my favorite parts are his letters to fanny, who was his muse and the subject of the poem "bright star."
i personally think keats is the most romantic poet in literary history. if anyone begs to differ, it is at least undeniable the allure and beauty of his letter writing.
i would love a letter from keats.
